Majoring in Engineering

Engineering is the profession in which the physical, chemical and biological sciences are applied in a practical way for the benefit of society. As an engineering student, you will learn to observe and describe technological problems and to seek useful solutions to them. Your skills upon graduation will be useful to you not only as an engineer, but also as a professional in management, sales, operations, manufacturing, and other fields.

Information for Transfer Students

Engineering majors at UC Davis are highly selective and require transfer students to complete specific pre-admission requirements. Visit our Selective Majors section to view these requirements. The College of Engineering maintains information on requirements for transfer students that can help you plan your transition to UC Davis. You should also use ASSIST to search for courses at your current college that are equivalent to UC Davis courses in engineering and other disciplines. You must complete all required courses if they are offered at your current college. If they are not offered at your college, you must complete them after enrolling at UC Davis.
