Humanities, arts and cultural studies explore the many facets of human expression and experience. These may be found in art, music or theatre, and may also be found within art history, literature, history, ethnic and cultural studies, philosophy, religious studies or foreign languages. Humanities students learn about, understand and gain appreciation for the achievements and traditions of civilization. They discover that many of the issues and questions we face today also faced our ancestors. With increasing cultural diversity at home and within our global community, it is more important than ever to learn about other cultures in order to understand the challenges of today's society. The humanities foster innovative thinking through an interdisciplinary understanding of our past, and will prepare you for life as a global citizen with the tools to solve problems in the present and the future.
