InternshipsBridging the gap between campus life and your career, an internship may be one of the most valuable experiences you'll have at college. The Internship and Career Center offers students the chance to relate their studies to the real world in a variety of challenging, rewarding positions. Each year, almost 6,000 students participate in internships with corporations, small businesses, schools, government agencies and community organizations. Engagement in community and public service is an important part of the UC Davis vision. Over the years, thousands of agencies, businesses and firms have sponsored UC Davis students. Many internships are located in Davis or nearby communities, such as Sacramento, including many opportunities at the Capitol or with public interest agencies. Other internships are available throughout the state, nation and world. Internships may be part-time during the school year or full-time during the summer, and may include a financial stipend. Students who complete internship requirements have the option to receive transcript notation certifying successful completion of internships, and may also earn academic credit. The ICC can advise you on the requirements for transcript notation or gaining unit credit for your experience. Career Resources Is there life after college? The Internship and Career Center provides you with the tools you need to move smoothly into the career of your choice after graduation.
