How will you spend your summer vacation? Consider spending one or two six-week sessions earning credit toward your degree at UC Davis, participating in a field course at one of our highly respected research facilities or exploring academic options in a summer freshman seminar. Summer sessions are available to qualified high school students, community college students and members of the public, as well as current UC Davis students.
With more than 500 courses, summer sessions offer excellent opportunities to enroll in courses required for upper division study, meet minimum progress requirements and graduate earlier. Many students discover that our six-week summer session terms allow them to progress toward their academic goals while still allowing time to relax and spend time with friends and family. Housing in the residence halls is available to all summer session students, making housing transitions effortless!
Courses Available
Nearly every department offers summer session courses, and many also offer individual study courses and internships. You can fulfill general education requirements, complete prerequisites in your major or study advanced topics in upper-division classes.
Summer session special programs offer unique academic experiences consisting of one or more courses scheduled across varying terms. These special programs include courses in a variety of languages such as Arabic and Chinese, field courses in marine organisms and advanced study in math theory.
