About the ProgramA TAG is a formal, written agreement that outlines the courses you must complete and grade point average you must earn before transferring from a community college. Written a year before you plan to transfer, it lists specific requirements for selective majors and guarantees your admission to UC Davis in the major you choose. After the TAG is written, you sign the agreement together with your counselor and a UC Davis representative. These signatures guarantee that you will be admitted to UC Davis in the major you want, for the specified term, provided that you complete the terms of the agreement and apply for admission during the open filing period. Arranging for TAGFall TAGs are available from all California community colleges (see list below). See your counselor to discuss your transfer goals and talk about a transfer guarantee. Signed TAGs for fall term are typically submitted to UC Davis in early September, so plan to meet with your counselor between May and the first week in September one year prior to your planned transfer. Once your counselor determines that you are eligible to transfer to UC Davis as a junior and that you meet the TAG criteria for your major, he or she will begin the process. Winter TAGs may also be available to students attending Transfer Opportunity Program (TOP*) colleges and Regional Educational Alliance for Completing Higher Education (REACH**) colleges, though opportunities vary annually. REACH is a consortium of schools promoting higher education in California's north state region.
