This free event for admitted freshmen includes campus and housing tours, information sessions, a student services and activities fair, student panel, parent table and more. Registration is required in advance at the Decision UC Davis website.
UC Davis Picnic Day is the largest student-run event in the United States and is the annual open house for UC Davis. Attending is a great way to get a "feel" for our campus atmosphere. There will be more than 150 events throughout the campus, including crowd favorites such as the campus float parade, dachshund "doxie derby" races, the chemistry magic show and the fashion show. If you would like to plan a visit to campus, Sacramento International Airport is just 20 minutes outside of Davis. There are many hotels and inns located in Davis, including the Hyatt Place on campus. You may also choose an overnight stay in Sacramento to experience our state's capital city, which is only a short 15–minute drive to campus.
