- ABOUT US
Expand your horizons and get a taste of the professional world by spending any quarter or the summer interning and studying in Sacramento through the UC Center Sacramento Scholar (UCCS) intern programs.
Students from all academic disciplines will get hands-on experience in the executive and legislative work of the state while taking UCCS classes to strengthen their knowledge of the history and process of California public policy formation and analysis. Many UCCS internship alumni are now employed by state lawmakers, the Legislature's policy committees and numerous state agencies.
Two distinct internship programs are available through the UCCS: our public policy program runs throughout the year, and our public-affairs journalism program is offered during the summer months. Students participating in the public policy program will receive 12 or 16 academic credits through the UC Davis Political Science Department while in the program.
Once you are accepted to one of our intern programs, UCCS staff takes responsibility for finding you the best internship for your academic and professional needs. While in Sacramento, you will pay the same amount of tuition as students who stay in Davis and your financial aid status will remain the same. You may also elect to live in university-arranged housing in Sacramento or continue living in your Davis apartment or house.
