If you are a newly admitted student, we invite you to join us at Decision UC Davis! We'll introduce you to life on campus and all of the possibilities you'll have to learn, discover and engage as a UC Davis undergraduate. We understand that choosing a university is one of the most important decisions you’ll make. Get the information you need to decide why UC Davis is right for you!

Decision UC Davis, Campus

Decision UC Davis, Campus is a free on-campus, one-day program for admitted students and their families. Programs for freshmen will be held on Saturday, April 12 and Friday, April 18. Programs for transfer students will be held on Saturday, April 12 and Friday, May 9. Register for the date that works best for you! At any of these three dates, you will be able to:

  • Get to know UC Davis on a student-led campus walking tour
  • Speak with current students about life at UC Davis
  • Attend the Student Services Fair
  • Parents: Attend our parents panel and learn about our Aggie Family Pack program

Come prepared for an active day: wear comfortable walking shoes and layered clothing, and consider packing a bottle of water and a light snack. There will be plenty for you to see and do!

The Decision UC Davis events on April 12 and April 18 are now full and registration is closed. If you are an admitted freshman, please consider attending Picnic Day on April 19. If you are an admitted transfer, please consider attending the event on May 9.

Multicultural Student Welcome Reception, Friday, April 18: The Student Recruitment & Retention Center (SRRC) invites you to our Multicultural Student Welcome Reception for newly admitted students from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in the ARC Ballroom on April 18. The theme for this year's reception is, "Just Like Me!" SRRC is your source for information about the myriad of leadership opportunities available at UC Davis. Mingle with current UC Davis student leaders while enjoying refreshments and entertainment. Find UR Future, Get (In)formed, Get (In)volved, Get (In) @ UCD!

UC Davis Picnic Day, Saturday, April 19: UC Davis Picnic Day is the largest student-run event in the United States and is the annual open house for UC Davis. This hallmark event celebrates campus life and the diverse achievements of UC Davis students, staff and faculty while providing education, information and entertainment for all who attend. There will be more than 150 events throughout the campus, including crowd favorites such as the campus float parade, dachshund "doxie derby" races, the chemistry magic show and the fashion show. Directions and Parking

Get driving directions and parking information to Decision UC Davis, Campus. Guests can park free in the West Entry Parking Structure and Lot 25. Guests choosing to park in other lots must pay a daily fee. If you will be using a GPS or Web-based map, please make sure it matches the final destination shown here.

Places to Stay

If you’re planning on spending the night, there are many hotels and inns located right here in Davis. You may also choose an overnight stay in Sacramento to experience our state’s capital city, which is only a short 15-minute drive from campus. For more information on lodging and regional attractions, please visit the Yolo County Visitors Bureau or the Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau.
