Native American Culture Days

UC Davis' 37th annual Powwow kicks off campus's 2010 cultural celebrations and heralds the start of Native American Culture Days. Native American Culture Days celebrates the traditions and contributions of our indigenous cultres of the Americas and provides a forum to promote cross-cultural communication and alliances between local Native communities, the campus and our broader community. The Powwow is presented by the Native American Student Union (NASU), Natives Empowered Though Unity and Education (NE'UE) and the UC Davis Cross Cultural Center.
Picnic Day

Picnic Day is one of the largest student-run events in the nation and is the annual Open House for the University of California, Davis. This hallmark event has been designed to showcase and celebrate the richness of campus life, the diverse achievements of UC Davis students, staff and faculty to provide a day of education, information and entertainment to all who attend. There will be more than 150 activities throughout the campus and we expect 50,000-60,000 visitors to enjoy this special day.
Asian Pacific Culture Week
April 19-23, 2010
Our Asian Pacific Culture Week celebrates the many and varied cultures of the Pacific islands, from Hawaii to Afghanistan. Join our campus communities as we come together to share our commonalities and embrace our differences. A variety of cultural programs by student groups will accent, educate and celebrate our diversity. Activities range from music, dance and food to programs confronting contemporary issues in our society.
La Raza Cultural Days
April 26-May 1, 2010
Attend our annual La Raza Cultural Days celebration at UC Davis! The weeklong event begins on Monday, April 26, and runs through Saturday, May 1. Semana de la Raza will kick off with a student organization fair on the Quad, including live entertainment and traditional foods, seminars, youth outreach conferences, films and a talent show. The week-long celebration culminates with La Gran Tardeada festivities on Saturday, May 1, which draw students, families, alumni and the surrounding community.
The Whole Earth Festival

The Whole Earth Festival is a zero-waste event that features live entertainment, great food, arts and crafts, and educational workshops. Each year, 400 volunteers help promote social and environmental awareness, as well as strengthen community ties.
Black Family Week
May 17-22, 2010
Black Family Week at UC Davis celebrates the many facets that create the African American cultural identity. Panel discussions, seminars and social activities give the university and the greater community a chance to interact with and learn more about our African American students and faculty. Black Family Day features a festival of African and African American themed live music, dance, food, and educational booths and closes the festivities on Saturday, May 22.
